Hangzhou’s long-lasting prosperity since ancient times has been closely related to the Grand Canal. To the south of the canal lies Qiaoxi. The Qiaoxi Historical and Cultural Block is located to the west of Gongchen Bridge, at the southernmost end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is where the collective memory of "Old Hangzhou" resides, both as cultural heritage and contemporary life. The block has become a "Song Dynasty Cultural Museum Without Walls" with various activities such as Diancha Experiences, the Song Dynasty Elegant Utensil Exhibition, the Song-Style Woodworking Culture Exhibition, and Hanfu Parades.
