Deshou Palace Site Protection and Exhibition Project (Southern Song Dynasty Museum, Phase One)

Deshou Palace was originally the old residential house of Qin Hui (秦桧) but was later confiscated by the government. It was rebuilt as a new palace and became the residence of emperors Gaozong and Xiaozong after they ascended the throne. It is now rebuilt and used as an important place in Hangzhou to promote Song Yun (Song Dynasty Charm) culture. The architectural style was restored with reference to Song-style architecture.

【Meihua Stele】

In an alley on the west side of the middle section of Youshengguan Road, there used to be a garden named Meishi (plum blossoms and stone) in Deshou Palace, where a lotus flower-shaped Taihu Lake stone and ancient plum trees set off each other. During the Ming Dynasty, a stele was erected in the southern part of the garden, on which was engraved a painting featuring plum trees and stones. Later, Emperor Qianlong came to Hangzhou and relocated the stele to the Old Summer Palace, placing a replica of the stone in its original place. The place was then named Meihua (Plum Blossom) Stele.
