Ye Zhong De Tang is an old-branded traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy and the earliest and largest pharmacy in Hangzhou to self-produce pills, pulvis, emplastrum, unguentum and pellets. Originally founded in 1808, the pharmacy is heralded as one of the “Top Six Pharmacies” along with Hu Qing Yu Tang, Wang Cheng Zhi Tang, Zhang Tong Tai, Tai Shan Tang and Fang Hui Chun Tang.
Its profound cultural connotations and architectural style that combines Chinese and Western architectural styles form a unique traditional Chinese medicine cultural space that adds charm to Hangzhou, a famous cultural city, while passing on and carrying forward the essence of traditional Chinese medicine culture.
In 2009, it was inscribed on the third representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Zhejiang Province.
