Oriental Jasper (鸡血石) is mainly produced in Yuyan Mountain (玉岩山), which is more than 1,300 meters above sea level, in Longgang Town, Lin'an District, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the rare and precious stone species unique to China. Lin'an Oriental Jasper Carving is a national gold business card of intangible cultural heritage. It has a bright red color like chicken blood and a luster like beautiful jade. It is known as a “national treasure” and is well-known both at home and abroad.


The beauty of the raw stones of the Oriental Jasper Carving lies in that it can only be found by accident, not through seeking. It is naturally blood-red, so it is considered to be a “blessing stone”.


The Oriental Jasper carvings can be artful and beautiful. Through the skillful hands and bright minds of intangible cultural heritage masters, these raw stones are designed and carved according to their original shapes and textures to become pieces of exquisite artworks.

In 2008, Oriental Jasper Carving was inscribed on the 2nd Representative List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
