On Shenxian Mountain in Fuyang, there's a cave called Xianren Cave that attracts hundreds of visitors every weekend seeking adventure.
Why is this cave so popular? A few days ago, we went to explore it ourselves.
Following bloggers' guides, we drove to "Huilong Temple" using GPS, then continued toward the mountain following the "Xianren Cave" signs until reaching the hiking trail, where we parked and began our trek.
The hiking trail is quite wild with an uneven surface. A small stream flows alongside the path, and various insect and bird calls can be heard. We reached the summit after about 50 minutes.
At the top is a family farm run by Chen Keping, a villager from Xinxiang Village. Under his guidance, we arrived at the entrance of Xianren Cave, partially hidden by dense forest. Standing at the entrance, we could clearly feel cool air blowing out from inside. Looking into the cave, we could see various strange rock formations covering the walls.
Bloggers have divided Xianren Cave into three levels. We could only see the first level; professional equipment is needed to descend to the lower two levels.
Xianren Cave is, after all, an undeveloped primitive area with many safety concerns.
"On one hand, this is an undeveloped primitive area that doesn't meet the conditions for opening to the public; on the other hand, the village has limited personnel and funding, making effective management difficult. Therefore, we plan to install railings at the cave entrance to block access. If development teams come in the future, we can then open it for tourism," said a staff member from Lushan Street Office.
