In early summer, Hangzhou blooms with the sweet scent of hydrangeas, their blue, purple, pink, and white petals draping the city in a dreamy glow. These vibrant flowers are the season’s must-see attraction. Here are three top spots to capture stunning hydrangea photos—get ready to visit!
Yongfu Temple
Nestled beneath Shisun Peak in the West Lake Scenic Area, this ancient temple, with nearly 1,700 years of history, pairs its yellow walls and black-tiled roofs with vibrant hydrangeas for a unique Zen aesthetic. This year, the temple added over 2,000 potted hydrangeas to its grounds.
Admission: Free for the temple; a ticket is required for the Feilai Peak Scenic Area.

Chengdong Park
Located along the Tiesha River, this hydrangea-themed park boasts over 15,000 hydrangea plants, where shaded paths, streams, and flower clusters create a picturesque scene. The park’s hydrangea festival is currently in full swing, a perfect time to visit.
Transportation: Take bus 28, 128, or 5 to “North Honghui Hospital” stop.

Linping Park Azalea Garden
The second phase of this garden, set on the southern slopes of Linping Mountain, is a new hydrangea landmark. Spanning 17,000 square meters, the hillside transforms into a sea of hydrangeas, seamlessly blending with the earlier 30,000-square-meter azalea garden. Together, they create a year-round floral spectacle: “azaleas in March and April, hydrangeas in May and June.”
Transportation: Drive or take Metro Line 9 to Qiushan Street Station, then walk or bike for about 15 minutes.
