Hangzhou’s 2025: Over 360 Sports Events Locked In!

The recent World Cup qualifier sparked a fever for sports among Hangzhou locals, and the city’s not slowing down.


This year, Hangzhou is rolling out over 360 district-level and above sports events, with more than 50 at international and national levels. From football to basketball, badminton to tennis, fencing, golf, and canoeing, over 60 sports will light up the calendar.


April kicks off with the International Equestrian Federation’s CSI2 Show Jumping, drawing around 400 horse-rider pairs to compete.


From September to October, the action ramps up with the Hangzhou Tennis Open (ATP250), Hangzhou Golf Open, International Canoe Federation’s Hangzhou Super Cup, and the Asian Rugby Sevens Series.


December caps the year with the third edition of the Badminton World Federation’s World Tour Finals, a global showdown of top shuttlers.


Beyond the big leagues, Hangzhou’s homegrown events will get everyone moving. The Hangzhou Women’s Half Marathon, Jinghang Grand Canal Canoe Marathon Series, China Cycling Tour, and Zhejiang Trail Bike Series Finals at Qiandao Lake bring unique flair. Crowd favorites like the Qiantang River Crossing, Super Saturday Community Sports Fest, and West Lake District’s “West BA” basketball bash will fuel a citywide fitness frenzy.
