National Roller Skating Championship Held Along the Scenic Qiantang River

From August 17 to 21, 2024, the National Roller Skating (Speed Skating) Championship took place along the picturesque Qiantang River.

During this exciting event, 80 teams and 602 athletes from 23 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country came together to compete for top honors.

The championship was hosted at the Qiantang Roller Skating Center, located in the Eastern Bay Headquarters Base, adjacent to the river. This state-of-the-art venue, architecturally inspired by the theme of "roller skating whirl," features a distinctive "whirlwind gyroscope" shape and has earned the nickname "pearl" of the Qiantang River.

The facility boasted a 200 × 7 meter speed skating track built to the latest technical standards set by the World Skate Federation, establishing it as the highest standard indoor roller skating competition venue in Asia.

As the premier national event for speed skating, the championship attracted a diverse array of roller skating enthusiasts and engaged a younger audience with its unique appeal.

Inspired by the Olympic spirit, the event aligned with the General Administration of Sport of China's initiative to promote national fitness, creating a vibrant atmosphere that encouraged participants and spectators to "Explore Hangzhou through the Championship."
