Hangzhou to Add New International Sports Stadium

Hangzhou is set to introduce a new international sports venue—the Yuhang International Sports Center. Construction on the project commenced in February this year, with plans for completion by 2027. Once finished, the stadium will accommodate up to 60,000 spectators.

The project involves a total investment of over 9.5 billion yuan and spans approximately 261,000 square meters. It will feature a professional football stadium with 60,000 seats, an 18,000-seat multi-purpose arena, and various supporting facilities.

Currently, the project is on track, with the basement structure expected to be completed by the end of December this year. The entire facility is slated for completion and operation in the first half of 2027.

The Yuhang International Sports Center will offer venues designed for both competitive events and performances.

In competitive mode, the stadium will host high-profile international sports events.

In performance mode, both the stadium and arena will accommodate concerts, New Year’s Eve celebrations, esports competitions, and other large-scale events.

Additionally, the center will provide fitness spaces for the public, including dedicated indoor facilities for badminton, tennis, and basketball, as well as outdoor areas featuring jogging tracks, waterfront promenades, children's play zones, gateball courts, and five-a-side football fields. This design ensures comprehensive fitness options for all age groups and interests.
