Recently, the Majiawu Observation Deck has gained significant popularity. At 4 AM, numerous young people from Hangzhou head here, eager to experience a breathtaking sunrise.
Starting from Majiawu on Xixi Road, visitors can hike along the mountain path to reach the Observation Deck, which offers stunning views of West Lake and the Xixi Wetlands.
To get there, take Metro Line 3 to Gudun Road Station, exit at C, and walk 1.4 kilometers to the Majiawu Archway. Simply follow the main road until you reach a stone bridge that leads to the mountain trail entrance.
As you ascend the stone steps, you’ll navigate a winding path that takes about 30 minutes to reach the Observation Deck at the summit. The hike is relatively easy, making it accessible for both the elderly and children.
The Majiawu Observation Deck features a 100-meter-long "S" shaped aerial wooden walkway, complete with safety railings on both sides. To the west, you can admire the Xixi Wetlands and glimpse the Future Technology City, with the western part of Hangzhou laid out before you. To the east, enjoy views of West Lake and the surrounding mountains; on clear days, the scenery is truly spectacular.
For the descent, you can either retrace your steps or head east, passing by Laohe Mountain and the Botanical Garden on your way down.
