The 2024 Xiaoshan District "Trendy Culture Party • Our Village BA" will continue until October, with an anticipated 500 participating teams and over 7,500 players.
For instance, in Guali Town, all 74 villages and communities have signed up to compete, totaling 882 players—marking the largest grassroots sports event in the town's history.
Basketball has a robust grassroots foundation in Xiaoshan District. In recent years, the spontaneously organized "Village BA," which sees multiple villages competing in basketball tournaments, has significantly enriched rural culture with a vibrant "sports force."
Leveraging basketball events as a catalyst, Xiaoshan District has gradually established a comprehensive event hierarchy. This ranges from international competitions like the FIBA Women's 3x3 Series Finals to national events such as the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) All-Star Game, and extends to local competitions like "Village BA," the Beautiful Family Basketball Tournament, and the Vitality Middle-Aged Basketball Tournament. With over 30 basketball events, the district has achieved extensive coverage across all age groups and levels throughout the year.
