Recently, the 2024 "Bringing Cultural Relics to Life" and the second "My Story with Museums" Achievement Exhibition were held at the Southern Song Dynasty Deshou Palace Ruins Museum in Hangzhou, drawing large crowds eager to experience the unique event.
By around 6 PM that evening, a long line had already formed at the entrance, with visitors eagerly awaiting entry.
At the Cifu Palace Square of the Museum, a dazzling light show captivated the audience as intertwining purple, blue, and red lights projected dynamic images of mountains, palace walls, boats, and paper fans onto the main entrance and nearby corridors. Accompanied by music, the spectacle left onlookers in awe. Local residents remarked, “This scene is truly extraordinary!”
The exhibition featured cutting-edge projection technology in collaboration with 15 cultural heritage institutions across Hangzhou, including the China Taxation Museum and the China Silk Museum. Together, they brought the stories behind 15 museum treasures to life through vivid digital light displays, creating a bridge between the past and the present.
Adding to the experience, an immersive themed performance allowed visitors to engage in a dialogue with the Song dynasty, offering a unique opportunity to connect with history in an innovative way.
“The goal is to revitalize cultural relics in a way that resonates more closely with the public,” said the director of the Deshou Palace Ruins Museum.
