“Chinese Sports, with a Long History - Chinese Sports Culture Exhibition” Launched in Hangzhou on August 28th

On August 28th, the Exhibition "Chinese Sports, with a Long History - Chinese Sports Culture Exhibition" was launched in Hangzhou.

It is reported that this exhibition showcases a total of 138 ancient sports artifacts from the collection of the Chinese Sports Museum, outlining the development of Chinese sports from ancient times to the present. The exhibition is divided into eight thematic areas: "Trace the Origins of Sports and Inherit Culture," "Sincerity Opens the Door to Achievements," "Strong and Fearless, Graze the War-Horses on the Hillside," "Skillful Hands and Feet to Master the World," "Sail Across the Vast Sea and Control the Waves," "Life is a Stage and Enjoy Sports," "Stopping War is a True Achievement and Peace is Valuable," and "Victory is Joyful and Defeat is Acceptable." These areas vividly narrate the stories of representative ancient sports such as archery, equestrianism, cuju (ancient football), chuiwan (Chinese ancient ball game similar to golf), water performances, dragon boat racing, fishing, performing arts, traditional martial arts, and Go, etc. They interpret the values of Chinese sports culture, which include upholding virtue and etiquette, valuing peace, following the natural way, and seeking unity between heaven and man. The exhibition showcases the endless vitality of Chinese sports culture and Chinese civilization.

The "Chinese Sports, with a Long History - Chinese Sports Culture Exhibition" not only demonstrates the profoundness of Chinese sports culture to the world but also enriches the sports city connotation of Hangzhou and serves as an important initiative in building the "window of sports culture."
