Northern Song Stone Pagoda

北宋の石塔.png

On both sides of the terrace in front of Lingyin Temple's Mahavira Hall, there are two stone pagodas built during the Northern Song Dynasty. They are solid stone pagodas with eight faces and nine levels, imitating wooden pavilions. The pagodas are carved with hundreds of Buddhist figures, and there are architectural elements such as multiple eaves, Dougong brackets, and corridors, all elaborately carved. They are exquisite examples of Wuyue cultural architectural art.
