Linpu was in full flourish in the Republic of China era. There is a saying which goes “Linpu is the Little Shanghai and the street is Fanjia Street (饭架街).” There are more than 800 shops on the one-square-kilometer Fanjia Street. Rice, wood and cloth shops were seen everywhere, and the leisure and service industry, including restaurants, hotels and theaters, was fully developed. The street is the epitome of the business and trade life and culture of Linpu.
The renovated Linpu Old Street is full of the modernity of “old Shanghai”. Novel shops such as immersive murder mystery game shops, offline game experience halls and theme guesthouses are set up in the street, making the street a “game-themed interactive block”.
Here, you can act as a spy in the Republic of China era, and fight a battle of wits and courage with enemies in the luxuriously-furnished “No. 19 Peace Hotel”.
In the meantime, the street keeps some old shops. For example, “the Usual Place Lotus Cake”, the old taste from your childhood, can be tasted here.
