The development of the bamboo paper culture in Fuyang is closely related to the history of the Southern Song. The elegance of the Southern Song Dynasty bestowed a pure soul upon bamboo paper, and the rise of bamboo paper also witnessed the prosperity of Southern Song culture. The Yuanshu Paper Culture Exhibition Hall here vividly reproduces, through illustrations and texts, the bamboo cutting, material preparation, pulp-making and paper-making processes of traditional Song Dynasty paper farmers. Visitors can experience traditional paper making, calligraphy, Song ink, brush painting, movable type printing, and rubbings, and feel the charm of traditional culture.
