[Wuliu Lane]
During the Southern Song Dynasty, there was a Wuliu Garden on the lane, hence the name Wuliu Lane. During the Song Dynasty, Wuliu Lane was the main vegetable producing area and trading place in Lin'an City, where the inhabitants were numerous, and the merchants came in a steady stream. It was extremely prosperous.
[Shiwukui Lane]
In the Southern Song Dynasty, it was known as Bamboo Lane, where theatrical performances and street vaudeville were available. It was a thriving entertainment district at the time. In the lane, there is a temple dedicated to Shi Quan, a loyal warrior of the Southern Song Dynasty.
[Chayuanqian Lane - Dama Lane]
Crossing near Taimiao Square, Chayuanqian Lane was the site of the Southern Song premier's mansion, and Dama Lane was given over to government offices responsible for grain storage and vehicles, horses, and correspondence. Today, the most authentic Hangzhou flavors and lifestyles can be found here.
