Xiaoshan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall in Fenghuangwu Village, Heshang Town, Xiaoshan District. This cultural heritage site of Hangzhou was built on the site of the former office of the Xiaoshan County Government during the Anti-Japanese War. Opened in September 2015, it is the first Anti-Japanese War-themed memorial hall in Xiaoshan and the first air force memorial hall opened through crowdfunding in China. The Heshang Anti-Japanese War History Research Association of Xiaoshan District plans, manages, and operates the memorial hall. In 2021, the memorial hall underwent professional upgrading according to museum standards. In 2022, after studying and learning from major Anti-Japanese War memorial sites across the country, the memorial hall underwent comprehensive upgrading. With an Anti-Japanese War theme, the memorial hall presents the war's impact on soldiers, ordinary residents, administrative personnel, and surviving veterans in detail and comprehensively. The exhibition is divided into four chapters: "Fighting on the South Bank of the Qiantang River," "Turbulent and Displaced Life," "Days in Heshangdian," and "Glorious Life." It combines hundreds of precious relics and photos to vividly showcase the hardships of the Xiaoshan people's eight-year war of resistance and highlight that the Anti-Japanese War was "a sacrifice, perseverance, and glory of a generation."
