China Sigillography Museum is a national theme museum. Established in 1999, it is the display window of the well-known "No. 1 Society in the World" - Xiling Seal-Engravers' Society, and a provincial and municipal patriotic education base. It is located at the western foot of Gushan Hill, next to Xiling Bridge, and close to the site of the Xiling Seal-Engravers' Society. Surrounded by the West Lake and mountains, it is blessed with beautiful scenery and combines natural and cultural landscapes. It is "the most beautiful place among West Lake and Surrounding Mountains".

Early Chinese seals were discovered in the Shang and Zhou dynasties and were widely used in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Seals, an art that combines the beauty of calligraphic work with the technique of seal engraving, have been popular in China for more than 2,000 years. Since the 16th century in the Ming Dynasty, seal art has incorporated painting and calligraphy of scholars, so the five hundred years of innovative literati seal engraving art of the Ming and Qing dynasties has emerged and changed the long course of seal development history, making it stand out from the forest of Oriental art and become a bright pearl shining at home and abroad.

China Sigillography Museum has a seal hall with seals from different dynasties, a hall introducing different schools of seal engraving, and a calligraphy and painting hall. It, with the historical evolution and the development of seal science as the context, displays different types of seals from different periods, many of which are classics of various periods or schools. The calligraphy and painting hall hosts various art exhibitions related to seal engraving from time to time, constantly expanding the field and enriching the content to show the world the unique and elegant culture of Chinese seal painting.
