The History Museum of CPC Hangzhou Branch (Museum Of Hangzhou Local Chronicles), officially merged on May 20, 2020 upon the approval of the Office of Government Set-up Committee of Hangzhou Municipal, is composed of Beishan pavilion and Wangjiang pavilion, both open to the public for free, providing public services such as consultation and access to Party history, and local chronicles and information, and undertaking the work of exhibition, publicity, education, exchange and cooperation. The Beishan pavilion is located at No. 44-49 Beishan Street, West Lake Scenic Area, Hangzhou, holding a collection of over 5,000 revolutionary objects, among which more than 600 pieces are on display. There are three exhibition halls, namely, Revolution Hall, Construction Hall and Reform Hall, all highlight Hangzhou’s splendid achievements in the development of economic and social undertakings in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and its political responsibility as the capital city of “Three Bases” and “One Window”, that is, the bases for Patriotism education, core socialist value education, and national unity and progress propaganda education, and the window to showcase the vitality of China’s development model and path. The Wangjiang pavilion, located at No. 266 Wangjiang Road, Hangzhou, covers an area of 2900 m2, and is composed of 8 exhibition halls, namely, Overview of Hangzhou, Elegant Jiangnan, Stable Politics and Harmonious People, Precious Place Producing Outstanding People, Gathering Place of Culture, Abundant City and Rich People, Folk Customs, and Compile the Chronicles and Seek the Law. Besides, there is an outdoor courtyard of 1500 m2 and a chronicles store and reading center of 290 m2. This pavilion mainly presents content about the local conditions of Hangzhou, covering extensive fields and historical facts, to demonstrate the important window of Hangzhou to showcase the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics in the new era, as well as the historical context of Hangzhou’s urban development and the sense of gain and happiness of the people under the leadership of the Party.
