Canal Boat Water Tour Experience

The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which has been running for more than 2500 years, is the earliest, longest, largest and oldest artificial canal in the world. Together with the Great Wall, it is known as two magnificent projects in ancient China. It is still a living, flowing and important World Cultural Heritage site.

With a total length of 39 kilometers, the Hangzhou section of the Grand Canal enters Hangzhou from Yuhang Tangxi, passes through Gongshu District and Shangcheng District, and finally flows into Qiantang River by Sanbao ship lock. The Grand Canal not only carries ships from south to north, but also breeds and cultivates the culture and urban charm along the river bank.

From Wulinmen Wharf, you can take a boat all the way north, crossing the Qingyuan Bridge seeking romance, visiting the imperial wharf where Emperor Qianlong had stepped ashore during his southern inspection tour, exploring the Fuyi Granary with its artistic rebirth, feeling the smoke and fire at Xiangji Temple on Dadou Road, time-traveling to the Song Dynasty in lanes and alleys on Xiaohe and Qiaoxi historical blocks, and paying tribute to Gongchen Bridge, which is the symbol of the south end of the Canal. Rain or shine, you can always immerse yourself in a vibrant picture of an integration of civic life and modernity along the Grand Canal in Hangzhou.
