Qinchuan Village, located in the Langchuan Village, Chun’an County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is a newly found ancient village of Qiandao Lake Area with a long history of more than 750 years. It is also the most populous and most concentrated administration village with more than 500 families and more than 1900 villagers. At present, nearly 60% of the houses are retained from the Ming and Qing dynasties.

In the entrance to the village, there are five big camphor trees extending their branches in all the directions. Among these five big trees, the oldest is almost more than 800 years. There is an S-shaped Qinshui River slowly flowing through the village. More than 38 bridges cross the river differing in materials and shape, such as stone arch bridges, concrete bridges, plank bridges, single-plank bridges and so on, reflecting the serenity and antiquity. And the “Jiyun Bridge” built in the Ming Dynasty wins the high reputation. From above, the houses neatly distribute along the river, thus, appearing a Chinese character, “王”. It seems like such a peaceful fairyland with ancient bridges, clear streams and ardent families.

There are 300 ancient houses that are built in Ming and Qing dynasties and characterized with Anhui styles. Because Chinese are particular about the harmony with nature, the houses are built near the mountains and rivers. And these houses are well designed with exquisite carvings and strict structures. There are still eight ancient ancestral halls and three solemn temples remaining. It is pervaded with an air of primitive simplicity.
