Jingshan Greenway

Although not as majestic as Mount Tai (head of the Five Great Mountains of China) nor as dangerous as Mount Hua (one of the Five Great Mountains of China), Jingshan Mountain features unique characteristics, like endless stretches of bamboo forests and gurgling streams shrouded by mist and fog. Stretching from Jingshan Town (径山镇) to Luniao Town (鸬鸟镇), Jingshan Greenway in Jingshan Mountain has a length of 18 kilometers and along its way are eleven courier stations. To accentuate its naturalness, simplicity, and antiquity, even the protective railings of the entire Jingshan Greenway are made of wood, bamboo, and hemp rope.

Route:

Shanshuijian Park (山水见公园) → Shuangxi Stream (双溪) → Dajingshan Tourist Center (大径山旅游集散中心) → No. 1 Village of Buddhist Tea (禅茶第一村)

Highlight:

The start of the Jingshan Greenway is at Shanshuijian Park, and from there, hike ahead along the greenway. There was a crystal-clear stream on one side of the green and a paddy field on the other. Halfway down the path you come across the Dajingshan Tourist Center, which features white walls and black tiles and is tucked inside a bamboo grove. Hike west in the direction of Jingshan Mountain and you will reach No. 1 Buddhist Tea Village, which boasts a strong Buddhist atmosphere and an idyllic landscape of mountains and water. Hiking further, the ancient Jingshan Temple is there for you to explore.
