Located in Wushan Square, near the West Lake Scenic Area, Hangzhou Museum is close to Hefang Historical and Cultural Street. Covering an area of 24,000 square meters, Hangzhou Museum is home to over 10,000 cultural relics, from ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy to jade stones, seals, and stamps.
First opened to the public in 2001, it was called Hangzhou History Museum and renamed Hangzhou Museum on June 9, 2012. The relics housed in the museum mostly date back to the Warring States (475 BC – 221 BC) period to the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644).
Hangzhou Museum is open to the public for free from Tuesday to Sunday. On weekends, there are free guided tours.
