Orioles Singing in the Willows, one of the Ten Poetically Named Scenic Places of the West Lake in the Southern Song Dynasty, is in the lakeside area north of the Qianwang Temple on the eastern shore, with an area of about 0.54 ha.

In the Southern Song Dynasty, the scenic place was inside Jujing Garden, an imperial garden built by Emperor Xiaozong outside Qingbo Gate (one of the west gates of Hangzhou City). It was so named because there were orioles singing in the willows in the garden. The scenic place was neglected when the garden was deserted after the Song Dynasty. In 1699, the 38th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, it was revived thanks to the emperor's travel in Hangzhou and lies to the south of Yongjin Gate (one of the west gates of Hangzhou City).
