Hangzhou Workmanship Demonstration Pavilion, as a branch of Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum (China Knife, Scissors and Sword Museum, China Fan Museum, China Umbrella Museum), is a dynamic supplement to the museum's basic static displays. It focuses on the demonstration of traditional handicrafts, such as knives and scissors, oil-paper umbrellas and silk umbrellas and various types of fans, as well as the creative handicrafts applied in modern art, in doing so, injecting new vitality into the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage on the basis of protecting and disseminating the historical and cultural values of such intangible cultural heritage. Unlike most traditional museums, it is characterized by "hands-on" experience and workmanship demonstration and the focus is that you can create things yourself. You can paint an oil-paper umbrella and take it home for a walk in an alley on a rainy day; you can write a poem on a white paper fan and give it to someone you like; you can also create a pair of Zhang Xiaoquan scissors with a name engraved on them as a gift for an elder who enjoys cutting and sewing.
