Take Metro Line 5 and get off at "Jucai Road," and then transfer to the special shuttle bus for Changhe Historical Block. After a journey of about ten minutes, you will arrive at the entrance of the old street.

Changhe Old Street has a history of over one thousand years. Today, it is still composed of Zhe Street (main street) and Huai Street (side street). Zhe and Huai streets intersect at Caishen Bridge.

In the vibrant summer, every inch of land in the old street is filled with the taste of summer, and every weathered wall reflects the brilliant sunlight, illuminating the bustling street life. Only by stepping into this old street can you encounter the most leisurely atmosphere of Binjiang District.

Route 1:

Walk straight along Zhe Street. Zhe Street backs onto Ze River, running east-west for about 500 meters. The shop buildings are mostly two-story, with living quarters above and stores below or a combination of front shops and rear residences. They are made of brick and wood, displaying exquisite architectural craftsmanship.

Within an area of 1.98 square kilometers in Changhe Old Street, historical buildings are connected, mostly featuring courtyard-style architecture such as sanheyuan (a three-sided courtyard) and siheyuan (a four-sided courtyard). They showcase various decorative elements such as niutui (bull's legs), dougong (bracket sets), and xiecheng (struts), adorned with window decorations depicting fishery, lumbering, farming, and studying. It is known as "a grand garden of Ming and Qing architecture."

These buildings are built close mountains and rivers, with high white walls, attractive arrangements, and intricate painted beams and carved pillars. Every brick and tile seems to be singing songs, softly recounting history and reminiscing about those long gone days.

Route 2:

Take a leisurely stroll along Huai Street. Huai Street faces Huai River, running north-south for about 400 meters.

In addition to the enduring century-old shops, there are also many traces of fresh and trendy vibes along the street. One can encounter coffee shops, handcraft stores, and art spaces everywhere. The blending of ancient charm and modern culture creates a journey that transcends time and space.

When you finish exploring the old street, don't rush to leave. After passing through Zhenlong Bridge, enter the Time Gate at No. 51 Huai Street, which is currently being restored, and you will discover a new world!

Just a wall away is Tianguan Cultural and Creative Park, which, together with Changhe Old Street, has witnessed the transformation and prosperity of this city. A rough-textured paint wraps around the original bricks, embodying compatibility with the present era and a continuation of historical heritage.

Recommended spots to explore at the old street:

Zhe Street's oil-paper umbrella promenade, Caishen Bridge, Changhe Revolution Memorial Hall, Lai Xiaoqin's former residence, and Xiaqiaonong Local Bank.
