Xinye Ancient Village, located in the southwest of Jiande City, Daciyan Town at the foot of Yuhua Mountain, was founded in the first year of Jiading years of the Southern Song Dynasty (1208 A.D.) with a history of more than 800 years. It is one of the most complete preservation of ancient blood settlement complexes in Zhejiang Province - the Ye family settlement complex. From the beginning of the construction of the village, after 36 generations of Ye families' efforts, the village has now developed into a huge clan village. The development of the village can be clearly seen and the development level is high with a complete layout and landscape. The ancient buildings in the village abound and their styles vary. To date, the village has preserved over 200 Ming- and Qing-style buildings, in addition to 16 ancestral halls, towers, pavilions and other characteristic buildings. Among them, there are 35 state-level cultural protection points, 27 provincial cultural protection points and 178 ordinary historical buildings. It's praised by experts as "the open-air museum of the Ming- and Qing-style architecture" and "the model of Chinese indigenous architecture." It has become a popular shooting place for documentaries, TV reality shows and more, like CCTV's "The Local Records of China", "Traveling Along the Rivers", "Nostalgia in Mind", "Family Style", Hunan Satellite TV's "Where Are We Going, Dad?", Zhejiang Satellite TV's "Discovery Zhejiang".
