On December 3, the first "Liangzhu Forum", with the theme of "Implementing the Global Civilization Initiative, Promoting the Exchanges and Mutual Learning Between Civilizations" lifted its curtain. Over 300 guests from China and abroad gathered in Liangzhu, Hangzhou, and exchanges between civilizations were the main theme of the dialogue.
As an important part of "Liangzhu Forum", the "Liangzhu Forum" Local Practices and Customs Exploration Activity was held during the same period. "Liangzhu Forum" Local Practices and Customs Exploration Activity is divided into two categories according to types of guests, artists and sinologists. For 84 artists from 83 countries, the activity consists of two periods, the local practices and customs exploration period from November 24 to 26 and the in-depth experience period from November 30 to December 1. The itinerary covers Hangzhou downtown, Hangzhou's Yuhang District, Tonglu County and Jiande City, as well as Shaoxing City and Huzhou City. For 43 young sinologists, the local practices and customs exploration period was held from December 1 to 2, whose itinerary covers Hangzhou downtown and Hangzhou's Yuhang District, etc.
Guests who participated in the local practices and customs exploration activity paid visits to the three UNESCO World Heritage sites in Hangzhou, the Archeological Ruins of Liangzhu Ancient City, the West Lake and the Grand Canal to enjoy the beauty of the world heritage sites in Hangzhou; toured Hermit Yan's Angling Terrace, Funchun Little Gorge, Yanzhou Ancient City, etc. to appreciate the beauty of Hangzhou's "Three Rivers and Two Banks"; took a Qiantang River cruise to view the beauty of the city; visited the Former Residence of Hu Xueyan, Temple to King Qians, etc. to see the beauty of classical buildings; visited the Hangzhou Workmanship Demonstration Pavilion to learn about the beauty of Hangzhou's intangible cultural heritage; went to the "The Way is Infinite: Centennial Retrospective Exhibition of Zao Wou-Ki Zao" to soak in the beauty of Eastern Art. It can be said that through this activity, guests from all over the world felt the unique charm of "Paradise on Earth · the Enduring Memories of Hangzhou" in a three-dimensional, comprehensive and vivid way, and were left with splendid, unforgettable "Hangzhou memories".
During the local practices and customs exploration period, the organizers also set aside ample time on the itinerary for artists to create, thus igniting their passion for creation. Artists created freely according to the inspirations they got on the site. Among the cultural and natural landscapes that can best represent Hangzhou, guests had an in-depth exploration of the diversity and richness of Chinese history, culture and art, and had an intuitive sense of how the dazzling Chinese civilization interacts and dialogues with the diversified cultures in the world. The works that artists created during the activity were displayed collectively on the "Silk Road: Artists Rendezvous" Works Exhibition that was opened on December 3, depicting the unique charm of Hangzhou where history and modernity complement each other in the eyes of artists and showing the credible, lovely and respectable China.
