In order to further develop sports cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, and to learn more about the preparation of the 19th Asian Games where the Kazakhstan's athletes are planning to participate, in January, 2022 the Consul General of Kazakhstan Mr. Rakhymzhan Rakhimov held a meeting with the Deputy Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the 19th Asian Games, Deputy Chairman of the People's Government of Hangzhou city (Zhejiang province) Mr. Chen Weiqiang. The Consul General of Kazakhstan during his visit to Hangzhou city also visited a number of key sports venues of the 19th Asian Games.

Q: Could you brief us on the current development of the friendly relations between Kazakhstan and China? 

A: Kazakhstan-Chinese relations have deep historical roots. It is not an exaggeration to say that the relationship between the two countries is a model of true good-neighbourliness and mutual respect. Today, thanks to the close political dialogue and a high degree of mutual trust, Kazakhstan-Chinese relations of an eternal comprehensive strategic partnership are developing steadily in the spirit of friendship, good-neighbourliness, mutual understanding and mutual benefit. I would like to point out that the year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Kazakhstan and China, which are successfully developing in the political, trade, economic and cultural fields. 

Q: What are your expectations for the upcoming 19th Asian Games? 

A: I believe that the 19th Asian Games, which will soon be held in Hangzhou, one of the most beautiful cities in China, will be remembered by many people for the outstanding and record-beating achievements of the athletes. In addition, on the occasion of the Asian Games, we will also enjoy the magnificent stadiums with unique architecture and modern facilities. I believe that the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou will be one of the outstanding sporting events organized at the highest level in recent years. All in all, I hope we can enjoy a colourful and spectacular show presented to the world by the organisers at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian Games.

Q: How are the Kazakhstan's athletes preparing for the upcoming 19th Asian Games? 

A: At present, the Kazakhstan's athletes are intensively preparing for the upcoming 19th Asian Games. I believe that the Kazakhstan's athletes will do well in Hangzhou and do their best in all aspects. Here, I wish to Kazakhstan's athletes good luck and adhere to the motto of "Faster, Higher, Stronger"!
