Brief of Ruins of Taimiao

Taimiao (太庙) is the royal ancestral temple of the Southern Song Dynasty. It was built in the fourth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty with a big hall, seven columns and thirteen rooms. Since then, various dynasties have expanded it and it enshrined a total of fourteen emperors of the Song Dynasty from Taizu Emperor onwards. The relics that are preserved now mainly include the east wall, the east gate site and a large foundation.
