Brief of Yongjin Pond

In constructing the city wall in 893, King Qian Liu of the Wuyue Kingdom ordered the city gate built and named it the Yongjin (Golden Buffalo Emerging) Gate. In 936 his successor King Qian Yuanguan built a pond to store water channeled from West Lake, known as the Yongjin Pond. Spanning the pond and the West Lake is the nice-shaped Yongjin Bridge, from which you can enjoy a distant view of Southern Hill and fairy islets on the lake. This legendary pond having been restored in 2002, it actually means more than that. It has a lot to do with culture and history.
