Serene tea mountains and zigzag tourist paths connect the beautiful scenery of villages, mountain forests, tea gardens, and the reservoir. Together, they create the Longwu Tea Town (龙坞茶镇) that keeps people coming back for more.
Among verdant mountains and emerald-green water, the warm breeze intertwined with the refreshing fragrance of tea leaves greet people. Following the strong tea fragrance, let’s walk into Longwu Tea Town and view it from the perspective of photography enthusiasts.
Longwu Tea Town is located southwest of the beautiful West Lake. It has long enjoyed the reputation of “Thousand-Year-Old Tea Town and Five Hundred Thousand-Kilogram Tea Town”. It is the largest production area of West Lake Longjing Green Tea. 70 percent of West Lake Longjing Green Tea is produced here.
As early as in late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty, the place was rich in tea; According to the “Hangzhou County Records (杭县志稿)”, there were two kinds of tea, black tea and green tea, and the green tea was from Longwu.
Entering the small town, people will see winding roads and undulating tea mountains. The scenery is extremely breathtaking. The world-renowned West Lake Longjing Green Tea grows right here among the verdant mountains and emerald-green water.
Strolling in the tea gardens, what meets your eyes is pleasant greenery, mountains and trees, sky and water, as well as tea farmers working hard in the depth of tea gardens. It’s in this kind of busyness and vitality that days in Longwu start gradually.
Once there are mountains and water in a place, the place then is full of charm. The scenery of Guangmingsi Reservoir (光明寺水库) is intoxicating, and among verdant mountains and emerald-green water, there is an abundance of lush green tea trees.
Tea trees all over the mountains, refreshing breeze past your ears ... the fragrance of tea leaves of Longwu Tea Town seems to reach your heart. It’s the tea farmers that have been working hard for generations here that bring us this kind of natural beauty.
In Longwu, there is nothing that a cup of tea can’t fix. If there are, then have two cups!
Coming to Longwu Tea Town, we might as well live like Longwu people and use a cup of West Lake Longjing Green Tea to start a new day. With simply a pot of mountain spring, people can feel the fragrance rising from the cup permeating the air and savor the taste of Hangzhou among mountains.
