The Asian Sailing Center is located in Xiangshan County on the coast of the East China Sea, a place characterized mostly by "soft sand and lucid water". It is also one of the important cities in Zhejiang for seaside tourism and sport events.
The total planning area of the project on the land is about 38 acres, and is about 115 acres on the sea. It consists of four areas: the competition training center, the water sports base, the hotel and harbor pool. To adhere to the concept of Hangzhou Asian Games, which is “green, intelligent, frugal and civilized", the embankment in construction is filled with earth and stones excavated from the nearby land area. In addition, the project will also adopt a large open space solution in interior design, eliminating the physical partition walls in non-essential areas. During the event, the center can use furniture and light materials to separate the areas temporarily according to the event plan, and restore it after the event to reduce the waste caused by second time decoration and improve the overall efficiency.
