Line 1


After more than five years’ construction, the first metro line Hangzhou — Line 1 was put into service on November 24, 2012. The opening of Line 1 made Hangzhou the 17th city in China to have a rapid transit system.

 

 

Line 1 is 48 kilometers in length, with 31 stations. Originally, train runs every 10 minutes from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Monday to Sunday. Since 11 November, the operating hours has been extended to 10:30 p.m. from Friday to Sunday. Ticket fares are based on distance, ranging from 2 to 8 Yuan. Running between Xiang Lake (湘湖) and Linping (临平). Line 1 connects downtown Hangzhou with suburban area of the city. It stretches across downtown Hangzhou after crossing the Qiantang River. The Xiasha line branches off from the main line at Coach Center (客运中心) and ends in Xiasha (下沙).
