Recently, eight departments including the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department of Zhejiang Province jointly released the list of the fifth "Most Beautiful Greenways in Zhejiang".
Now let's check this year’s two listed greenways out.
Jingshan (Shuangxi, Xiaogucheng Village) Greenway 径山（双溪、小古城村）绿道
Jingshan (Shuangxi, Xiaogucheng Village) Greenway starts in Lu Yu Spring Park (陆羽泉公园) and ends in the scenic area of Xiaogucheng Village with a total length of kilometers. “People Touring in the Paintings” is the main characteristic of this “Most Beautiful Greenway in Zhejiang”. Shuangxi Greenway is adjacent to North Shaoxi Stream (北苕溪). It presents the original features and charm of surrounding mountains and water, fields and gardens, streams and beaches, integrating historical and cultural resources along the way to create a new appeal of the greenway.
With the greenway as the bond, Jingshan (Shuangxi and Xiaogucheng Village) Greenway integrates the local natural landscape and Zen tea culture, making it a mountain and water scenery gallery and an urban leisure bond in Dajingshan Rural National Park.
Jiande Xin'an Jiujinglianzhu Section 建德新安绿道九景连珠段
The Jiujinglianzhu Section of Xin'an Greenway is located on the banks of the 17-degree Xin'an River, Jiande of Hangzhou. It features diversified scenes and every corner of it is beautiful.
The greenway is 27 kilometers long with 10 rest areas. Among them, the first-level rest areas are arranged based on Xiaya (下涯) and Daitou (岱头), the two major tourist distribution areas. It has formed a complete and comprehensive rest area system by integrating with the greenway network. Along the greenway, there are nine attractions and three gateway landscapes including Xiaya Wetland (下涯湿地) and Painted Countryside (彩绘田园).
Besides the listed provincial greenways, Hangzhou has some greenways with exquisite scenery that are also worth a visit.
Fengshouhu Park Greenway, Shangcheng District 上城区丰收湖公园绿道
Fengshouhu Park Greenway is 2 kilometers in length, arranged around Fengshou Lake. It connects Sanjiao Harbor (三角港), Fangtangbu River (方塘埠河), Donghu Road Greenway (东湖路绿带), and other public open spaces, creating a reachable touring and leisure greenway network. One side of the greenway is paved with floor tiles, suitable for walking; while the other side features a blue plastic track, suitable for jogging.
Inside the park grow lots of shrubs and trees. Along the greenway, in spring you can see mountain flowers in full bloom, in summer there are lush green trees providing visitors shelter from the sun, in autumn you'll see layers of forests "dyed" different colors, and in winter lush green trees can also be seen.
Banshan National Forest Park Greenway, Gongshu District 拱墅区半山国家森林公园绿道
Banshan National Forest Park Greenway is inside Banshan National Forest Park with a total length of 26 kilometers. Along the greenway, there are over 50 high-quality attractions including Wangchen Pavilion (望宸阁) and Hushan Reservoir (虎山水库), and footprints of ancient emperors, kings, generals, and ministers including the King of Wuyue Kingdom, Gaozong Emperor of the Song Dynasty and Wen Tianxiang (文天祥; the politician, scholar, and national hero of the late Southern Song Dynasty).
The greenway is built according to the mountain landscape, fully displaying the special scenery of the beautiful and tranquil mountain scenery. Here, you can ascend high and gaze far, hike to explore, and have an outing with your children. It is a "forest oxygen bar" and a "living museum".
Lihe Park Greenway, Xiaoshan District 萧山区里河公园绿道
Lihe Park Greenway is 7.303 kilometers. With Lihe Park as the center, it connects roads inside and outside Yiqiao Market Town (义桥镇) to form a ring. It is linked to Huzhua Mountain (虎爪山) and backs onto mountains and is adjacent to water, forming an ecological, green, and healthy slow traffic system.
Dajingshan Greenway, Yuhang District 余杭区大径山绿道
Dajingshan Greenway is 18 kilometers in total starting from Shanshuijian Park (山水见公园) in Jingshan Town to Shangougou Scenic Area (山沟沟风景区) in Lu'niao Town (鸬鸟镇). Along the way, there are 11 rest areas and 12 leisure projects. While cycling along the trail, you'll see verdant mountains, emerald-green water, Flower Sea, tea gardens, water, bamboo forests, and gurgling streams. With the breeze blowing, emerald-green water ripples and sparkles. Streams and islands are scattered around, and vegetation is dense with egrets occasionally flying outside the thick growth of grass.
Qiantang Riverside Greenway, Qiantang District 钱塘区钱塘江滨绿道
Qiantang Riverside (Jiangbin) Greenway starts at Jushou River (聚首河) and ends at Jiangdong Bridge (江东大桥) with a total length of 16.2 kilometers. It combines leisure, sightseeing, amusement, and ecology into one, forming a slow traffic system that enables walking, running, and cycling. It greatly promotes the city grade.
People can stroll along the river with one side being the glistening Qiantang River and the other the vigorous and open greenway landscape. It is really pleasant.
