Qipao (or Cheongsam) is the most beautiful dress of Chinese women in the past 100 years. It is known as the "quintessence of Chinese culture" and "classic Chinese clothing", showing unique Chinese charm internationally. Hangzhou, the "capital of silk", is not only the inheritance place of the human intangible cultural heritage of "Chinese silk weaving techniques", but also the "paradise on earth" with its silky scenery and unique flavor in the south of the Yangtze River. On the afternoon of June 19 (local time), the 2019 Hangzhou Global Qipao Festival kicked off at the Arc De Triomphe Square in Paris in the moving melody of Hangzhou's City Song "Paradise Hangzhou".

The noted Chinese designer Li Jialin's brocade Qipao show is displayed on the finale. French models dressed in Hangzhou's unique flower and bird brocade Qipao walked on the stage elegantly; 20 Chinese girls holding round silk fans gave the audience a graceful dance, showing elegant temperament. Known to the world as the "magic oriental flower", Hangzhou brocade has been sold overseas along the Silk Road.

Zumba Alix has 245,000 fans on YouTube. The promotional video about this French event is led by Zumba dance instructor and industry leader Alix Pfrunder, which will be released on YouTube later.

Qipao Challenge on TikTok Is about to Go Online

At the same time, the tourism bureau will launch the official Qipao challenge competition on TikTok, an emerging short video platform, to encourage overseas women to wear Qipao or their traditional dress to imitate the "Paradise Hangzhou" dance, and to promote the culture exchange of the classic clothing culture of the East and West, and interpret the attitude of modern women.

2019 Hangzhou Global Qipao Festival in Africa

Meanwhile, a series of activities of "Wonderful Hangzhou· Global Dance" - 2019 Hangzhou Global Qipao Festival in Africa and the "Belt and Road Initiative" European countries have also been launched. Members of "Zimbabwe Dream Show", a charity activity, also participated in the Qipao festival activities, wearing red Qipao to perform the African version of "Paradise Hangzhou" Qipao dance. "Zimbabwe Dream Show" is a non-profit cultural brand activity created by Zimbabwean overseas Chinese targeting local young artists.
