Xixi National Wetland Park

Xixi 360 acres of reed quietly white.

The breeze gently blowing, such as white snow in the wind, so called "flying snow".

The 360-mu (1 mu is equal to 666 sq m) reeds in Xixi have quietly whitened. With the breeze gently blowing, the reed catkins drift with the wind in the air like snow flake, that’s why the scene is called “Flying Snow Flake”.

Reed catkins are light and white, appearing more pure and elegant, which endows Xixi with a unique beauty. "Listen to the Sound of Reed Catkins Blooming"-- The 15th Xixi Reed Listening Festival kicked off on November 3 and continues until the New Year's Day in 2020, running through the entire season of reed appreciation.

Currently, the reed welcomes in the best viewing period. You can take the "Shanglu (Reed Appreciation) Special Line" to reach the best place of reed catkins appreciation in Xixi — Qiuxue (Autumn Snow) Temple. You can also drift along the winding waterway in a rowing boat listening to the soft voice of the wind blowing the reeds, and experiencing the characteristics of Xixi. Every weekend during the Festival, there will be folk music concerts, water village weddings, Yue Opera performances on water, ancient style musical instruments performances and other performances in Xixi Wetland, allowing you to have more artistic enjoyment in addition to watching the reed.

Beihu Grass Marsh 北湖草荡

In Pingyao Town, Yuhang District, there is a rarely-known primitive ecological wetland — Beihu Grass Marsh which is characterized by a stretch of reed catkins.

The autumn breeze rises and the reeds swaying with the wind are light and graceful with agile egrets leaping in between. If you're lucky, you'll have a chance to run into a grey swan.

Transportation: drive from Hangzhou along the 104 national road to Pingyao Town of Yuhang District, cross the Pingyao Yongxi Bridge (瓶窑苕溪大桥), continue to drive along the 104 national road for 3 kilometers, turn left at the second traffic light into Xi'ansi Village (西安寺村口), drive 100 meters and turn left to the Zhangyan Bridge (张堰大桥), and on the left, you will see Beihu Grass Marsh..

Langyuan Village 阆苑村

At the time of late autumn, in the fields and rural areas of Langyuan Village, Tongjun Street, Tonglu County, you will see reeds sway with the wind and at dusk, the reeds glow with red in the late afternoon sun.
