Brief of Xiaoshan Economic & Technological Development Zone
Approved by the State Council in May 1993 as a national economic & technological development zone, Xiaoshan serves as the main platform for the economic growth and investment promotion in Xiaoshan District, aiming at industries of machine manufacturing, electronics, textile clothing, automobile, medicine, construction and new energy sources.
The zone has gained honors including High-tech Industrial Park in Zhejiang Province, Demonstrative Park for Recycling Economy in Zhejiang Province and International Demonstrative Area for ISO14000. Now, 602 foreign investment projects from 30 countries and regions have been ratified with a total investment of US$10.17 billion, contracted foreign investment US$6 billion and actually utilized foreign capital US$3.53 billion. Meanwhile, 393 domestic investment projects have been approved with a total investment of some RMB100 billion.
The zone boasts convenient transportation with highway, railway, waterway and airline extending in all directions. Particularly worth mentioning, Xiaoshan International Airport, one of the largest airports in China, provides flights between Hangzhou and important countries/cities. Besides, services and facilities including residence, education, research, finance, business and restaurants are well equipped to meet personal needs.
