Brief of China Jiangnan Water Town Culture Museum
China Jiangnan Water Town Culture Museum lies to the north of Linping People’s Square in Yuhang District, Hangzhou City. It occupies an area of over 8,000 square meters and serves as an important window into Yuhang’s history and culture, Liangzhu Culture, and Jiangnan water town culture.
It consists of four themed sectors, and seven exhibition halls. The first sector is about the history and culture of Yuhang which illustrates the important events that have happened in the Yuhang District since Majiabang Culture (a Neolithic culture from around 5000 BC to 3000 BC) about 7,000 years ago. The second sector exhibits jade artifacts unearthed from the Liangzhu Culture (the last Neolithic jade culture). The third sector deals with ancient towns in Jiangnan and local customs of waterside villages.
