As one of "New Top Ten Scenes of West Lake", “Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies” is located among the wooded hills southwest of West Lake. For its serene rustic charms, “Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies” has long been a top tourist lure.

As the name suggests, there are nine creeks involved in this attraction. The nine creeks have two origins, one is in Shizi Hill (狮子山), and the other is in Yangmei Hill (杨梅岭). Flowing to the south, the creeks meander their way through Xu Village and then empty into the Qiantang River (钱塘江). This attraction features water and wooded hills. It will be a good choice to make a walking tour of this attraction along the path in the valley.
