Peach Blossoms
The best place to enjoy peach blossoms is Bai and Su Causeways, and the West Lake vicinity in general. From late February to middle April, Su Causeway and Bai Causeway are particularly stunning with their green weeping willow trees interspersed with eye-dazzling peach blossoms in hue of pink, white and red,. Spring Dawn at Su Causeway, Viewing Fish at Flower Pond and Lingering Snow on the Broken Bridge are ideal sites to enjoy peach blossoms.
Lotus
With a plantation history dating back more than 5000 years, the lotus embraces refined taste and noble characteristics such as purity and integrity. West Lake boasts 14 lotus plantations encompassing 9 hectares, among which, Beili and Yuehu Lakes are the two most prominent ones. The lotus flowering period extends from June to late September. Best sites to view the lotus include Breeze-ruffled Lotus at Quyuan Garden, Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, Lingering Snow on the Broken Bridge and Autumn Moon Over the Calm Lake.
Osmanthus
Hangzhou is famed as city of Osmanthus, a flower typical to China. In China, there are over 100 varieties of osmanthus trees, of which 67 varieties can be found in Hangzhou. Among them, 38 varieties are native to Hangzhou, such as Golden Osmanthus, Silver Osmanthus, Orange Osmanthus and Four-season Osmanthus. From the middle of September to early November, osmanthus will blossom in hues of light yellow, golden and reddish yellow. Perfumed with their intoxicating scents during this period, Hangzhou becomes a city of fragrance. Best places to enjoy osmanthus are Manjuelong Village and Hangzhou Botanic Garden.
Plum Blossoms
Plum blossoms symbolize strong will and noble character. From late January to middle February, they arrive in full blossom. The best places to see these delicate blooms include Solitary Hill, Xixi Wetland National Park and Lingfeng Peak.
