Yue Kiln Celadonware

Zhejiang is one of the main origin places and production areas of porcelain in ancient China. In particular, Yue Kiln has the longest porcelain producing history, and has advanced porcelain production. It has made great contributions to the establishment and development of the porcelain industry. The main producing area of Yue Kiln is where ancient Yue people lived and the area was then called Yuezhou (Yue State), after which Yue Kiln was named. Yue Kiln is known for producing celadon ware, which is one of the prestigious porcelain kilns in China. Its porcelain-making technique, decoration craft and styles have all reached a very high level in ancient China. In particular, the “Mi Se (secret color) kiln” specially-produced porcelain for the imperial court has become the typical example of China’s ancient porcelain making, which has a far-reaching and profound influence.
