What are the 19th Asian Games volunteers?
Volunteers for the 19th Asian Games refer to those who are recruited by Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee and its authorized or entrusted organizations, provide voluntary services for the Asian Games, are willing to accept and participate in relevant training, and will assist and participate in the Asian Games operation supporting tasks during the games under the leadership and guidance of the staff at the designated time, location and position.
According to the nature of the positions and service fields, the volunteers will be divided into general volunteers, professional volunteers, and cadre volunteers.
General volunteers refer to the volunteers engaged in auxiliary work like order guidance, information consultation, reception and assistance, cultural activities, and logistical support.
Professional volunteers refer to volunteers who possess certain professional skills such as competition service, translation (including sign language and Braille alphabet), reception service, award ceremony, information technology, media operations, and delegation assistant.
Cadre volunteers refer to the volunteers who have strong organizational and management capacities, and high work enthusiasm, are familiar with volunteer work, and can organize and lead the volunteers to carry out work.
What do the volunteers need to do?
The volunteers mainly provide voluntary services for the opening and closing ceremonies, various competitions, and activities of the 19th Asian Games. They will work in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Huzhou, Shaoxing or Jinhua, Zhejiang, China.
Categories of voluntary service include competition operation service, registration and certification service, reception and translation service, arrival and departure service, ceremony and event service, audience service, media operations, logistics support service, transportation service, official conference service, Asian Games Village and official reception hotel service, information service and other voluntary services.
Working time of the volunteers
The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 will take place from September 10, 2022 to September 25, 2022 and the Asian Para Games will be held from October 9, 2022 to October 10, 2022.
The volunteers will normally be on duty from seven days before the competition to three days after the competition, or seven days before the official opening of the competition venue to three days after the closing of the competition venue.
The duty hours of the volunteers in special positions can be flexibly arranged.

To become a good Hangzhou Asian Games volunteer, you will need to meet the following requirements,
Basic requirements,
1. Comply with Chinese laws and regulations; are willing to provide voluntary services for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 and accept the guidance and management of Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee;
2. By then 18 years of age (born before September 1, 2004), with the physical and mental qualities required for voluntary service;
3. Have good communication and coordination skills and be able to communicate in a foreign language. Volunteers of non-Chinese nationality must have basic Chinese expressing ability.
4. Able to participate in various training and activities organized by the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee;
5. Meet the basic conditions required to provide services for the event.
Preferred conditions,
1. Have relevant competition/event volunteering experience;
2. Able to provide services for the 19th Asian Games, the Asian Para Games and test competitions throughout the process;
3. Have certain professional knowledge and skills, including but not limited to interpretation and translation services, minority language, information technology support, etc.;
4. Have other professional skills that can help with the preparation, organization and operation of the event.

The application of volunteers for the 19th Asian Games will start on May 22, 2021, Beijing time, and end at 24:00 on October 31, 2021.
